Impact of the synergistic interaction between xanthan and galactomannan on the stickiness properties of residual film after application on a surface

The objective was to investigate the influence of synergism between xanthan gum (X) and galactomannans (guar (G) locust bean (L)) on stickiness film formed after application polysaccharides a surface. adhesion evaluated using texture analyzer. X, G, L were examined in concentrated solutions (0.5, 1 1.5 %, w/w) as function gums mixing ratios (0/100, 20/80, 40/60, 50/50, 60/40, 80/20 100/0). increased significantly with concentration G exhibiting less sticky films than X L. binary mixture X/G X/L confirmed synergistic interaction, increasing firmness mixtures decreasing stickiness. Such findings open interesting applications for skincare product development natural texturing agents enhanced consistency residual skin being pleasant not sticky.
